Alongside four Nez Perce leaders, Newell set out to renegotiate their treaty and seek appointment as Indian Agent. Each historical visual shared (drawings, photographs, maps, and illustrated newspapers) becomes a window into their adventure, transforming words from Newell’s journal into a living, visual narrative of courage, diplomacy, and discovery.
