Explore Hubbard, Oregon

Hubbard throws one of the best small town parties in the valley, and it started as a fundraiser. In 1973 the volunteer firefighters needed money for gear, picked a theme everybody here understood, and held a hop festival. More than fifty years later the Hubbard Hop Festival still takes over the third weekend of July at Rivenes Park, with a parade through town, a car show, horseshoes, bingo, a beer garden, and music most of the day.

The hops weren't a gimmick. Hubbard was once the center of Oregon's hop industry, and the fields are still here. Drive the backroads in late summer and you'll see bines running twenty feet up their trellises just before harvest. TopWire Hop Project, the beer garden planted right in the hop rows, is minutes up the road.

You'll find Hubbard on 99E between Aurora and Woodburn. Antiques ten minutes north, tulips ten minutes south.
