ACORN WAR XXXII SHIRE OF MOUNTAIN EDGE
August 28-30, 2026
Join us for the 32nd annual Acorn War August 28-30, 2026, to be held at the Powerland Heritage Park in Salem, OR. We’ll have war scenarios and rapier dueling. Compete for the honor of becoming a ME Defender in archery, thrown weapons, art & science, and bardic. MORE war scenarios than you can shake a spear at: village burning, bridge battles, and mixed archery and war combat. Activities for all ages. Friday and Saturday night bardics. A variety of merchants will be present. LOTS of classes!
You are strongly encouraged to bring drinking water, potable water on site.
Fire season will be upon us, propane gas only (no wood fires) with an extinguisher, fire mat under, raised above the ground.

Site opens at 4pm on Friday (3pm for merchants), and closes at 1pm on Sunday.
Defenders to be won: Art &Science, Archery, Throwing Weopons, Bardic- Invocation court at 9:00 am at Alpine Coronet Pavilion on War field
Archery: Lady Elovel of Avalon will be leading royal rounds, fun shoot, and coordinating with Defenders.

War Theme
This event recreates the struggles surrounding the fall of the Western Roman Empire. Fighters will take part in a series of melee scenarios representing the clash between Rome and the barbarian hordes.
General Rules
All combat will follow the standard rules and conventions of the Society for Creative Anachronism and the local kingdom.
Armor inspections must be completed before participating.
Marshals have final authority on safety matters.
Fighters should clearly identify themselves to marshals and scenario commanders.

Scenario 2: Twin Bridge Battle (6ft and under mass weapons). Archer Combat allowed, 11:00
Scenario 3: Broken Castle Battle, Archer Combat Allowed, 12:00
