Something is going on here just about every weekend. Tulip fields and flower festivals in spring, rodeos and street fairs all summer, Oktoberfest in September, and holiday markets once the fields go quiet. Here's what's coming up across North Marion County.
Spring. The Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn runs late March into May. GardenPalooza at Bauman's in Gervais lands in early April, Adelman's peony season opens in April and runs into June, and Schreiner's Iris Festival fills May. Silverton's Pet Parade is the third Saturday in May, and Woodburn celebrates Cinco de Mayo on the 5th.
Summer. Flavor de Futbol comes to Woodburn in June, and Silverton's Strawberry Festival takes Father's Day weekend. The St. Paul Rodeo runs from late June through the Fourth, which is also the biggest day of the year in Mt. Angel, Silverton, and Woodburn, with the Oregon Garden's celebration the night before. July brings the Hubbard Hop Festival and Donald Daze, plus the Mount Angel Abbey Bach Festival running into August and sunflowers taking over the Wooden Shoe fields. The Great Oregon Steam Up at Powerland spans the last weekend of July and the first of August. August fills up fast: the Homer Davenport Festival in Silverton, Aurora Colony Days, Fiesta Mexicana in Woodburn, and the Silverton Art Festival.
Fall. Mt. Angel Oktoberfest takes four days in September and is the largest folk festival in the Pacific Northwest. Woodburn marks Hispanic Heritage Month from mid September, Bauman's Harvest Festival runs from late September through October, and Silverton's Sidewalk Shindig is the first Saturday in October.
Winter. The Oregon Garden Christmas Market runs from late November into January. Mt. Angel's Hazelnut Fest and Aurora's Wine and Chocolate Walk both land the first weekend of December, and Volksfest brings Mt. Angel back out in early February.
Year round, Woodburn's Second Fridays bring a new theme downtown every month.
